Anyone fish it lately?

Thinking of hitting it this weekend, Dam to Dicks...

Did the middle section Friday. Very, very weedy. Some fish-not outstanding. Target the carps!

I fished that run on Saturday. I would second Doublehaul's comments. They have been releasing some water too.

Me and armadillomojo fished that stretch on Saturday. Fishing was ok. Yes there are a lot of carp and gar in there right now. There is a lot of grass too.

How is the water level, are you having to drag your yak very often?

With daily release the water level changes rapidly. Very little dragging out there on Sat.

The ONLY reason to fish with a fly rod in Texas
is to throw a POPPER, casting any other type fly just means you're doing something.

Good flow right now. It can change rapidly but you will be just fine. thumb

We went Sunday, One generator had been running for three days.

Man o man the water was crystal clear down to at least 8ft, and cool too. It was amazing.

The grass was a foot under the surface so the river was fishable and we did good for such a bright sunny day.

What a trip.

I have lived in the the area for a long time, but just picked up my first fishing kayak...very excited

anyways, I know you can obviously put in at the dam, and you can take out at dicks, but where are some other places to put in, pick up in between...if any?

open to the public.

thanks
