People use it red fishing in the gulf all the time. Should be fine.

"Use red line because fish can't see it"...and don't forget to "put red hooks on your baits because it makes fish think the bait is bleeding and makes them more agressive!" I never have understood those comments.

I was at Falcon in April,2011 and my buddy and I was fishing with a guide. My buddy was catching fish and so was the guide but I went all morning without a bite. The guide said he heard that the red fishing line didn't work very well. I laid that rod down and picked up a rod with fluro on it, the very first cast I caught my first fish of the day and continued catching fish the rest of the day. When we got in that evening I took all red line off my reels and throwed it away along with some unused spools. I got a good buy on that red line and now I see why. Just my 2 cents

Black Sharpie does great. Just color three ft or so. If fishing frogs do nothing. It is easier to see when fishing frogs.

Its great for watching your line. Much easier to see than traditional green IMO. Check out the new hi vis yellow too, that stuff is great in low light conditions.

Red is the first color in the spectrum to loose it's color dissemination as it gets deeper. Red hooks are good on the fall and in depths to 12ft.

Yep! Same with the yellow. Just wanted to add, when you use your permanent marker, mark it in a dashed pattern. This will add a cameo effect rather than just a straight black line.

I would never use red line. Read a study on line color awhile back and it concluded that red and orange lines were more visible to bass than blue and clear.

hmm, wonder if the last time the bass "schooled"
they went to a "line recognition" class ???

If they shy off a line color , then wonder why they hit a crankbait with all the hooks showing ??

Just wondering
