Friday August 17th thru Sunday the 19th I'll be camping with my Godson at Winkler Park on Belton Lake. Just looking for suggestions regarding bait, types of fish or possible the best places to fish at the park or the Lake as a whole. I havent fished on Belton Lake in over 20 years.

I fish out at Winkler's quite often. Since you're staying at the park you can fish from anywhere along the bank. Its not a very big park though. There is a small open area to the North where non-campers, like myself, can only fish from until sunset. I've only caught catfish, black drum and an occasional white bass from that area. Baits of choice are fresh shad or earthworms earlier in the morning or later in the evening. Again, non-campers have to leave at sunset. Good luck!

Belton is hard fishing this time of year. Is you are bringing a boat, I would focus on strippers.
