Picked up that UL combo and went to my usual place to catch perch for this weekends catfishing. While there I caught this angry fellow. I haven't run into him before. Is this a Warmouth?

Had a great time and got plenty of bait for tonight. Now I just need to find some of these big ones you guys are catching!

I noticed you fish Ray Hubbard for pan fish to use as catfish bait. I just moved to Texas and would love to find somewhere with plenty of bluegill or pearch. Strangely not very many on Lewisville where I am most of the time.

Any suggestions where I should look on Hubbard and what are you catching them on?

Hi Bengals 97! Well first of all, that's not Hubbard in those pics, it's a city pond in Garland. You can get into perch in most city ponds pretty easy. Here is a listing of Garland Parks.

Now, I do catch perch in RH, especially if I chum before I start catfishing. I like the chum they sell at fisherman's Supply Fishermand Supply at I30 and Zion.
The longer the chum is out, the more perch I catch. They also tend to get bigger as the night goes on.

I catch them on worms, either nightcrawlers or wax worms. I think they prefer Wax worms, but they cost more. A lot of people in this forum say good things about the GULP baits in worm or maggot shape but I haven't tried them yet. Usually I just fish around the pillars of docks I'm on or at the base of boat ramps where the shine from the street light ends. I like to tight line two bream hooks above a 1/2 ounce sinker. Also, I don't mind fishing shallow; all the fish in my original post were under the dock in less than two feet of water.

Hope this helps you out some. As of where on RH I fish I frequent Terry Lane Park in Heath, the boat ramp on Zion rd, and most of the Public Access Facilities on the lake except Chandlers Landing.
