Devils River is good for numbers but the bigger ones will come from the main lake.

My buddy just came back from 8 days of fishing there and said it was kinda slow. But to be fair I have to admit he's not that great of a fisherman.

If the wind isn't blowing try the island in front of Black Brush and some of the underwater islands as you head up the Devels River on the left. Use a C-Rig with 10" Power Worms. Flukes on a light C-Rig is always good. I would drive staying in 20 ft. of water shooting side image on those islands until I found then then fish for them.
Try the two big coves going up the San Padro on the left before the 277 bridge. Drag C-Rigs down the middle of the ditch hitting grass pods. Start out at 20 ft. and work toward the backs of those two coves.
You can catch some good fish in the back of Castle Canyon. Fish the big hardwood flat on the left just before you get into the creek. There is a tall hill in the back on the right. The flat is streight across. Be there early in the morning. In the back of Castle may be a topwater bite at day light then C-rig the flat.

Each person you work with holds some promise to your future success.

bring a camera, just for the scenery alone. And done be afraid of the mexican side. Put in at box canyon and shoot across, but be sure to have a mex license if you do (I've never been checked, but better of playing by the rules)

x2

Early am, or dusk, if you find some flats near deep water, 8-10', or main points- Super Spooks should get you some nice ones. That's one great lake.

Funny how everyone catches fish with different baits.. Just throw your entire tackle box at em till you catch em..
