I hooked up a structure scan on my dads center console to hook up to his HDS 10. When I plugged everything I have no structure selection in the pages. But I took his HDS 8 off his skeeter and it popped right up. So I assumed the 10 would be able to run side imaging but I guess not. Is there a upgrade I can download to the 10 to get this feature or do I have to send the 10 back to lowrance?

do you have an ethernet cable going to both units from the LSS?

Just from LSS to the 10.

Is the LSS powering up while the 10 is on? Is the green light above the Power lettering lit?

Yes. When I hooked the 8 up it popped right up just not for the 10. The LSS is right its the 10 itself I don't get. Is this a unit programming issue?

just go into your advance menu and go under interface and make sure theres a check mark under structure scan option.

Ok upon some further investigation. The unit is a version 3.9. Apperantely I need to update the unit to a version 4.0. Anyone care to walk me through this process?

mmm. That shouldn't been your problem, but you should always be running current software.

listen to what jason's saying ! i was running ss w/3.9 version and liked the 2d better than 4.1 jmho

So I followed Jason's instructions. Updated software. And it is available in the pages menu now but says no source. I'm lost. Any other bright ideas.

Saw a similar "No Source" error on a new HDS install and by temporarily subbing successfully another unit, the subbed HDS unit working fine and seemed to confirm the new HDS was surely bad.

Turned out though, we had been fooled by an intermittent Ethernet cable that surely had a broken but touching wire at the connector.
