im fairly new to bass fishing and im looking for some more ways to fish for them. i usually hit up a lot of ponds in my area. been fishing weightless senkos lately with ok results. been reading up a little on drop shot rigs. would they work in little ponds? and how exactly do you present them?

thanks guys.

I have been killing fish in a couple of small ponds i fish with them. In fact, its all that has been working. Using a 1 owner drop shot hook tied approximately 18 inches above a 3/16 drop shot weight. using a 4 inch zoom finesse worm, motor oil with chartreuse tail. casting it around pads, stumps, anything that i can find. keeping the weight on the bottom and bouncing the worm. Dont go very long without a hit.

I just left a small pond this morning. It was good fishing. I was on the water at 4:30 at trailered by 10:30. I like to beat the heat. Anyway, this pond gets a good amount of industrial lighting so they feed weel every night. I use it as my technique testing tank. Last night was dedicated to drag'n jigs. Night before was helicoptering spinnerbaits. The water is lightly stained, clear to 15ft.

Next time I go, I will use a Drop shot. I have drop shot in the past, but it is not my style of fishing, therefore it is a weakness that I need to work on. Look forward to trying it out.

I like fishing them down ledges and main lake points with good inclines in water with good visibility and little wind. I like spinning gear and 8 lb fluoro most of the time. Have always been partial to straight tail Roboworms since I had a lot of success with them in Cali but you can fish anything on em. Just let it hit bottom, reel in very slowly until you hit structure...pause...then barely shake your rodtip. Should pick up fish most of the time like this
