The reel is a Quantum AV770CX Burner. I looked all over the web and cant find any schematics or how to take this reel apart. I have taken every screw out and I cant get either side cover off. I dont see anything at all on the palm side that would hold the cover on. Any help is appreciated. thanks

There is a black slide release just under the front worm gear cover. Hold the left sideplate with your left hand and slide the release inward towards the handle the twist the sideplate downward and pull to remove the palm side. The reason you cannot get it off is there are 3 screws on the inside of the spool that you have to remove to get the handle side plate off. Be carefull if you remove the front thumbrest as the black sideplate release has a spring behind it that will launch on you into the atmosphere. These directions are good on most any newer version Quantum reel.
Your reel is not showing anywhere as it is not dealer or manufacturer supported as it is a private label from either Academy or Dicks. I cannot remember which.

I hate it when that happens!

I have another Quantum and I see the slide release on it but not on this one.

Give me a side view on the palm side. Its got me. I have looked at it over and over but see nothing that might be a type of release. Thanks

Charlie try twistind the left plate up and doun. Quantum has in the past made some that you just twisted it to get it off. Some BPS reels are like this also.

There you go. There should be two or even 3 screws through to the handle side plate from there. On that model I think only two. One at 11:00 from the pinion and the other at 4:00. The third screw is from the outside underneath from the frame to the sideplate by your reel foot in front under the thumbar.
