Seems like I can't head to the lake without buying something....Few more Hyper Freaks..another spool of InvizX....hmmm read a report they are hitting 12" Wat/Red worrms...yep better get 4 packs of those...well if they are hitting Wat/Red...better get a few Wat/ Candy just incase...
Then I look in the boat and I have everything listed above X4...
Guess I need to go thru the boat...clean and organized....I thinking I have $500-$600 worth of soft plastics I've never opened....
Anyone else?

Of course. Isn't that a requirement for each trip. No matter what we have or how much of it, we still need to buy more.
Guess some people would call it a addiction......

+1 on the illness, I can never get out of BPS with out spending at least $40
BTW I'm just a bluegill fisherman

I use what I already have available, afterall when I bought the stuff I have I thought those baits would catch fish so I use them.

Not every time out, but certainly often I have to buy something I see recommended on this forum. No telling how much the TFF has cost me! I noticed the other day that my "seldom used baits" box is almost full. But isn't that part of the excitement of our sport - there's always something you want to try and that gives you something to look forward to.
In memory of my childhood friend Dan Sterling, who taught me at an early age how to catch bream with a hand-line, and who unknowingly hooked me on fishing for life.

I used to do that and read Bassmasters and go out and buy what ever lure(s) was featured in each monthly issue, usually in several colors. After I filled 3 ceder chest sized tackle boxes to the exploding point I quit doing that. I bet 60 to 75% of what I have has never seen the water. I learned that you become a far better fisherman if you take a hand full of lures and master them well. I could be competitive in most tournaments with 3 to 4 lures......

Here is a great DEAL. Yes, we buy something of every thing listed every time we go to the lake, but eventually this illness will go into ressesion because we have eventually stocked up on most the stuff we need. Once this illness seems to be under control, since you haven't bought anything in awhile, you can then justify purchasing that $300 rod and that $300 reel to go with it! Isn't life grand, there really is something to ALWAYS LOOK FORWARD TO. This budget plan has gotten me some pretty good gear past the o'le lady!
Occasionally she threatens to sell my gear. My biggest fear is that she would sell it for half of what I SAID I paid for it. OUCH!

No, I order stuff when I need it. The only time I visit a tackle store is if I need something in a hurry or if I am going there for something else.

This too, it seemed like after I quit buying every trend that came along I switched to buying better rods and reels, the stuff you don't get at Walmart or Academy and better electronics......I know with the discount store rods I was doing good to get any of them to last over 3 months with out snapping in half on a hook set. When I went to the better rods, All Stars and Falcons my rod breakage stopped. I actually wound up saving a lot of money by buying the better rods.....I noticed that Academy appears to be about the only store out there selling All Stars and their prices are CHEAP, makes me wonder if they are Made in China now.....

Right now I am addicted to Football Jigs. Had to get a separate Plano box just to keep my jigs organized.
