So I have had some success bank fishing out at Pat Cleburne, caught a nice 14.5 inch crappie and 5 cats between 3 and 6 out at the west boat ramp last weekend, but I was wandering if anyone had any recommendations on baits or some bank spots primarily for catfish but I am always down to throw some crappie in the freezer.

I know most of the east bank is open access but am not quite sure where to throw the lines out along that stretch of bank. There is also the back cove/river channel and the west boat ramp. Those are all of the places I am aware of to bank fish on Cleburne is one of those preferable over the others? or are there some places I may have overlooked?

Ive also tried Benbrook but have had pretty much no success, so it seems like Cleburne is my best bet as far proximity to the house. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Ok so the boat ramp with the rocks over by the golf course is a good spring and fall spot...or the bay next to it...from there to the volleyball courts is all shallow water.
Right at the volley ball courts is a good spot there is a point under water there.

From the volleyball court to the dam is more deep water...really starts dropping off at the turn around close to the dam.

So anyway with this hot weather like is, you will probably want to go deep so anywere near the dam...but if you are night fishing I would recommend the volleyball court its lit up and really the only place I've had some luck.

Pat cleburne is a very hit or miss lake...so if you start pullin um in you better let me know...I'll be there in a jiffy smile

Never give up, never surrender.

I wouldn't mind sharing a good bankspot with ya if I had one up here-but I didn't do very well off the bank when that's all I did-if I was where you are I would hit the brazos-love the brazos!

I'd pack up and hit 174 to FM56 and fish Lake Whitney. Doesn't look much further away and a lot better quality of fish IMHO

I thank God for each day!

In years past I've put a canoe in below Whitney and caught several kinds of fish.

Hamm Creek is on the Brazos, not the Noland.

So been here at Steele since 9 last night and still going strong... Plan on staying til sundown but I may change parks. Not to many bites over the course of the night and morning. fished by the boat ramp to the south and the point up from there, didn't try the Brazos side. But I do have 5 fish on the stringer. I lost 3 on palm size chunks of fresh cut perch but all of em shook the hook.
