 Saw a really big one caught this week

I got to see what I can only describe as a mutant Redear this week. Another bass fisherman caught the largest sunfish I have ever seen. At 1st look I thought it was a white bass, but it was a 14.25" 2.56 pound Redear. He caught it on a crankbait in about 16' of water. He said he was going to have a replica mount of it. After a few pics and weight/measurement he threw it back.
If Ash agrees to grill some steaks Il tell her where. If not Il post the GPS cords on here lol. I really was thinking 12 1/2" may be about the best we could do, but after see'ing this monster...

That Colorado River has big Redear by the bunches! If you can get access to any pics, I would love to marvel (drool  ) over them. That's a big Redear by anybody's standards. Bet he thought it was a DD black bass!

oh opps I thought he caught it on a fly yea I am pretty excited about maaaaayyyybbbeeee catching the fish of lifetime grilling is on! sorry Fred!  but i wont be able to attempt till this weekend. hope the fish is still there

Man he was just a day late for entering that fish in the contest.  That was the 14" Plus that we were watching for.

Where was that fish two days ago!  Side Note: There are several 14" Plus Sunnies on both the Lady Bird Lake and Dunlap! It is just a matter of time until one is caught for one of the contest.
