I bought a whole box of old fishing reels at an estate sale..... Zebcos, old Diawas, etc. To my surprise, there was 4 5500's and 2 6500's in the box. Gave $5 for it. Took the reels over to Southwest Sports off Mockingbird in Dallas, and they refurbished the reels for an average of about $18.00 a piece. That was seven years ago.

Point: I always prefer Abu Garcia Reels... Older models are built right, tough, and parts are plentiful. I think they cast well enough, and if you rinse them down after a saltwater trip, they will last a long time.

Shimano Core 101 with 20# Sufix braid on a 6'6" Waterloo HP Slam Mag. Light as a feather and tough as nails.

The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president.

I see the rods and reels are covered, what about wade fishing set-ups?

I use the Floatmaster to carry my tackle and extra rod.
