I used to paint radio towers when I was a teenager (16-18) it was damn good money. The biggest one I've ever been on is the KLBK tower in Lubbock, which was about 1500'. It's quite the rush...
...the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing...except post about it in the bunker.

Forget about the climber,I would like to see the men that had to build that tower for what ever they were paid is not enough.

Forget about the climber,I would like to see the men that had to build that tower for what ever they were paid is not enough. I have some friends that build and maintain these things. One of them told me that as they build and attach guide wires they aren't tightened until the whole unit is up. When the wind blows it causes the tower to flex in the middle kind of like a limp wrist until the cables are tightened, very scary. I 've done 150 feet before on a structure and that was enough for me.......
