Have spent quite a bit of time out there (folks have a place near Electra Lake), and have fished Hermosa / Lime / Cascade a fair amount. In fact, those are about the only three streams we ever fish. Upper Hermosa from behind Purgatory, Lime near the campground on Lime Creek Road, and Cascade from the trail by Buck's Livery.
Anyway, heading up there in early August and hope to branch out a little bit and find some new water. Any recommendations / ideas anyone could give me would be much appreciated. PM if you'd rather. Thanks!

I was there this past week. I went out with Duranglers and the water is low but i had a good day. Keep your eyes open and i am going to post a video and a recap of the trip. Quick recap fished behind walmart at the place the rafters call high brigde. Caught a couple of 19 inch plus browns and had a real big one that took the fly about 2.5 feet from me and the guide said he was at least 23 inches long but broke me off in the rocks after he ran up stream all the way to the backing. A 14 inch rainbow a bunch of the 4 inch rainbows. A few sucker fish i think they call them Blue fish.

Ive spent a lot of time on the Animas, which like biggerD said, holds some big fish! You can also head East towards Pagosa, and pick on some fish in the Piedra, Williams Creek, Wemenuche and the upper San Juan...including East Fork and West Fork.
God does not deduct from man's allotted span the hours spent fishing.

I fished the pine up in the wemenuche after telluride bluegrass this year (greatest vacation ever). The three mile hike to public land scares most folks off. I actually didn't see another angler all day, and the fishing was unreal. PM if you want more info.
