After yesterday morning the wife and I went all over town looking for a new trolling motor for the boat and NO one had any in stock. After being out with Paul and seeing him work his iPilot I talked the wife into letting me get one. I have to order it because it seems that no one in the area has it in stock...

Are these things easy to install and learn to operate? I have never even tried to operate one of these new fangled things grin.

Install depends on your boat but as easy as any other trolling motor. Very easy to operate.

+2 on Shut Up and Fish.

I priced TM's everywhere. He had the best price and is very nice, I had a lot of questions. I plan on buying it in August.

I just got and installed a new Terrova trolling motor with iPilot already built in. The work required is (1) de-install the old trolling motor, (2) drill new holes and install new trolling motor, and (3) modify/change the boat power recepticle if needed to match the new trolling motor's. That's it! The iPilot itself requires nothing. It is ready to go.

Dangit! I wish I would have seen this before...

I got a call yesterday morning from the sales guy at Bass Pro. He actually went out of his way and had one brought in from another store overnight and had it waiting for me. I didn't even ask him to do it! Went by there yesterday evening and picked it up. I got it home and found out that the mounting plate on it is bigger than the plate that is currently on there. I messed around with it last night for a bit and came up with a solution... I am going to have to go get some 1/4" plate and make my own mount. The problem is that this is going on a Bay Liner and not a regular boat... Oh well. Should have it on and ready to go for this weekend! I can't wait to get this thing in the water!

Make sure you go all the way thru the top deck when you mount it. The ipilot sticks out over the bow and gets nocked around so you want it mounted solid. Bass Pro has a neat mounting bolt that is kind of like a molly boat that works great for tight spaces. It goes all the way thru and opens up under the deck. Do not use the rubber push in ones.

Thanks Fillet! The mount that was/is currently on there had bolts with lock nuts on them that went through the top deck. I am planning on re-using the same bolt holes and risers to get the trolling motor up past the rail handle on the side. I have never even tried to put one on a ski boat before, but I will get this thing on here smile.

David with Shut Up and Fish was extremely helpful...shipping was fast..

Only had to drill two holes...prior ones lined up

Just put mine on my CC yesterday..about 1 hour to deinstall/reinstall..

Took my old 24v riptide and put it on my son's 17' boat...ought to get it on plane.

Thanks for the infor xray. I will def call David for the rest of my needs! Your install looks a little easier than the one I am going through. I should have the plate tonight and hopefully get a chance to get all the holes drille and mounted.

The pic of the 24v on that 17 made me laugh a little... He should be able to scoot across the water with that thing. lol
