My son and I went to Lake Bonham this afternoon for an evening trip. I caught a 7 1/2 pounder ten minutes after we got on the water. It is my new personal best, by the way my last personal best was just at 7 pounds and it came from Bonham! I used a digital scale to get the weight. I caught her flippin boat docks with a wm jig and beaver trailer.

Nice one I love bonham wish I was not 2 hours away.

Thanks for all the comments, as you can tell I dont have much experience having my picture taken holding a big fish!! Everything I was ever told about how to hold a fish for a photo went out the window!!

The lake has been tough for me this year also. spots and brush piles that have always produced I cant get a nibble on. Top water has been non existent too. I can see huge balls of shad with feeding fish all around and no matter what i throw in there i cant get bit. strange fishing year for me. but why bite a weird plastic bait when there is all that shad to gorge on. Maybe it will be a good growing year and we can all catch ten pounders next spring!

Hopefully this will be a good growing year, the bigger the better!
