Belton sure seems small for a trail trying to draw as many boats as this one . JMO

I like the way they have done their schedule so far. If you fish the whole trail, I don't think anyone has a distinct advantage over the whole trail and it's against some very good competition. I get burned out on the same schedule every year on the same lakes.

Quit whining! I live in Oklahoma 3 1/2 hours from Dallas and I fished them all this year and plan to do the same next year. If you can't afford the gas to effectively pre-fish don't. At least this trail gives you a day on the water to kind'of figure things out before a tournament.

How many are they trying to draw? Bass Champs holds several tournaments there every year.

Belton has seen a few fields close to 200 boats for Champs over the years...

You would have 40-50 teams jackpotting it and probably see a 150 boat field, which would be a little much for our little river.

I think no one likes belton because it challenges you as a angler. It now one of the lakes that you can go to and shoot pigs in a barrel. It will hold the big tournaments easily, but no one likes to zero, hurts their ego.

I can promise you there wasn't a single "easy" lake on the schedule this year or on for next year.

You need to look at it in a different way. I love thoes lakes even better its a one day event. Anyone can win on a tuff lake with a stroke of luck

Belton will be primo in early May. It should take 25+ to win. Barring any wierd weather, that will coincide with the shad spawn just about perfectly.

I like the schedule and the contingency. Should be a good event.

Didnt mean it as fishing an easy lake. I think my opinion is right on if you have ever fished belton consistantly for a few years or more. Challenging was my choice of words as I recall. Needless I can agree that this year and the year to come will not yield anything that we could consider easy.

Good Luck

This trail is the best trail I have fished since I have been tournament fishing. (03') We had a great time and the lake choices were very diverse. The championship on Amistad is only going to have 75 entries and they are giving away 2 boats. Not many trails can do that. Also the TV show helps market your business if you get on the show and are wearing your business sponsored jersey. That happened to us twice last year, which is pretty cool.
