Lake Austin (Lady Bird now) has produced 3 or 4 Share Lunkers over that passed couple of years. Pricey for sure.

Texoma, Richland Chambers, for size.. You can have a great time and have the lake to your self a lot on smaller lakes like Quitman, Hawkins, Winnsboro, Holbrook.. I grew up on a small lake, it was nice, still is, much more relaxing. If you're looking for hustle an bustle and (ButtHeads) better stick to the big water lakes.

Skeet, I'll give you another option. Holly Lake Ranch, Texas.

Five lakes/ponds, the largest (Lake Greenbriar) is ~250 acres I think and spring fed. You can ski 'til your heart's content on this one. Holly Lake itself is 50 acres and also a constant water level from springs. Good bass, crappie, bream and catfishing.

In addition, there is an 18 hole golf course that's pretty and challenging with a nice 19th hole, two pools, tennis courts, archery and shooting ranges, put put golf, hiking trails, workout facility, activities center with fish frys and such on Saturday evenings, plus gated and secured by a full-time force of commissioned peace officers. Condos and timeshares for rent to handle any overflow guests or weekenders.

It's 30 minutes from my house to the East side of Lake Fork. HLR is 15 miles ESE of Quitman, for reference. You're within one hour of every one of the lakes mentioned, thus far.

If you want big lakefront, HLR's not for ya'll. If not, it's an option you may want to look at.

Cypress Springs. Great fishing and recreation. Also, close to many other great fishing lakes.
