Who knows something about this lake and the striper fishing? Is it like Texoma will they reproduce on the lake naturally? Thinking about a little trip out that way one day and just don't know enough about it. I did look up the regulations on the lake and it looks like •No minimum length limit for striped bass, but there is a 5-fish bag limit of which only 2 may be 30 inches or greater. Does that mean you catch so many big fish they only allow you 2 over 30 inches?

The forum is full of reports @ Texoma. I believe the slot is 2 over twenty and no minimum length.

My old man has a 18#er on his wall that he caught in '79 I believe...lol. Not exactly a current report... Folks still catch them in places out there though, just not in the #s like back in the lake's hay-day. Wish I had more detail for you...

They are there for the taking but the population is waaayyy down. They stopped releasing them a while back in favor if helping the lunker catchers since thats where the money is. The days of 25+lb fish on the lake are gone. Im pretty confident there are none left over 20-22lbs. There are a couple ways to still consistently catch them but its not something I share. Even those techniques get tougher and tougher each year.

The larger striper become "loners" and cruise for big meals (IMHO) - ever try night fishing close to the dam (deeper water) when the bigun's go cruisin' for that easy meal? Have to fish them like bass - casting big baits (Redfins) on the rocks with the boat positioned a good distance away. Works on any lake with a population of striper. Same thing at night in the spring when the bigger fish are making their way up river to spawn - fish the shorelines at night in the rivers.
