I vote we all stay at Elm Creek if you want to camp. Jerry and his staff are excellent and make a tasty burger. We'd need to let him know ahead of time so he could reserve the cabins. I read today that without rain, they only have 6 weeks before the ramp is outta water I sure hope we get some rain soon. Oh...and for the record......I know where a 12lber lives there!!

Sounds like the want is there so hows about this proposal... *OH Ivie-Kennedy Recreation Area ( http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/fishboat/fish/recreational/lakes/o_h_ivie/access.phtml ) *Sept 22nd (moon phase will be 1/2 rising) *$20 cash entry, %100 payout to top anglers (individuals), * game is best 5 LMB 14" minimum *Total inches of top 5 anglers on each side will determine N-S winner *sign in from 645-710a (choose your side at sign-in) *Capts meeting at 710-715a *Sunrise at 7:20a so launch then *weigh in at 3p, *food (pot luck) and awards at 4p, sunset at 7:27p so most should be home by dark camping, nearby lodging available Sounds good. Do you have any info on good places to stay down there? 22nd sounds awesome because I am scheduled off that weekend!!! Maybe Jerry could open at 530 instead of 6am so we could all enjoy some bisquits and gravy!! Any Austin guys able to take off on Tuesdays? I'm off every Tuesday and this is when I will be pre-fishing it

rhoffart, get your crew and head up! Everyone is welcome as long as you're from Texas. Now I'm getting questions from the Oklahoma boys.....maybe our next tournament will be Texas VS Oklahoma at Texoma???? lol
Hermes, please don't take my comment wrong, I do appreciate your ideas. All of this input will be used I assure you. In the next week I hope to have the location and date secured and start working on sponsors.

Any Austin guys able to take off on Tuesdays? I'm off every Tuesday and this is when I will be pre-fishing it I may be able to, but not till September and around my exams.

I totally agree with you. I do think we need to get the trophy to you so that you can get the name of the Northern guys that beat y'all engraved asap!! I'll be sure to get the name Sally engraved on them asap then!

I'm off every Tuesday and this is when I will be pre-fishing it Rise Adventures has their end of summer bash the 22nd up here at lake Grapevine and we usually have a Heroes on the Water booth there for them to get out in the kayaks. The 29th is the North Texas Kayak Get Together on Lake Grapevine and we usually do something at those to raise money for Heroes on the Water.

Ok, what about me. I am in Southwest Texas, but I fished with the Austin boys in the KATS tournament all year? I want to fish this for sure.
How are the teams going to be split up? Are a certain number allowed on each team, or just as many as you can get?
Is this going to be an individual tournament, or a true team tournament with the largest stringer from each side combined?

Jerry says we will have the whole place to ourselves, and that kayaks will be the only thing able to get on the lake! He has 30 rooms, 9 full hook up sites, 5 water and electric sites, and lot's of tent camping. If you miss out on reservations Jerry says there is a motel right outside of their gate called Sportsmans Lodge 325-357-4996.
This still has to be firmed up, but it gives you and idea of when and where. More info to come as we get confirmation on things.
And agin thanks to all of you offering to help, I will probably need it!!! :-)
