Its HOT on Cooper lake in more ways than one. The afternoon HEAT can be almost unbearable until the Hybirds start chasing shad out of the water right in front of your boat than you forget all about the heat. The hybirds have been chasing shad around most of the mainlake humps in the afternoon. Yes I said afternoons the hottest part of the day. I have been finding them by watching for shad leaping out of the water or by seeing the hybirds blowing up on the surface. You will need to pay close attention because you will only see a couple of fish at a time on the surface to point the way. I am using two baits right now, A 2oz fiesta or godfather slab from MOESTACKLESHOP.COM or a 4in nanna color sassy shad.
With Aug. right around the corner I have more open days than I want. Give me a call and lets go catch a few of these Cooper Lake hybirds.

How was your vacation?

My vacation to Bevers Bend was good. Those trout are fun but I am ready to be back on Cooper in the morning.

I can't wait to get back out there. Time to plan a camping trip out there.

Tony you can not use those trout for bait??? They do catch Huge Stripes???

We fished yesterday from about 3 till 8:30. It was slow compared to normal. Shad were not as happy yesterday as they have been. I guess the storm yesterday morning put the hybrids off alittle. We managed 7-8 hybrids and a bunch of sandies. Had to work a little for the hybrids.

It was great fishing with my goose hunting buddy Steve and his friend as well as Denny Crane who hunted with us several years ago. Great reconnecting Denny can't wait to get out here again with you. Steve's all excited about getting after them again on Friday next week with his fly rod.

Looking forward to fishing with Tony Parker next Wednesday with Terry, Ray and Keith. I'm sure Keith will put together a great report as always.
