We called them blue racers. They will chase you! I'm pretty sure they are all FEMALE since they always seem ticked off... Its too thick to be a racer

Looks like a yellow belly racer. I kept one for awhile. He was mean as the dickens, but it didn't hurt when he bit because he was so small. One of the prettiest snakes I ever had. He was gray when I first caught him, but after he shed his skin, he had a lot of turquoise mixed in with the gray. yep, thinkin yellow bellied racer. kinda rare anymore. Hey Pope!

Had a PM to ID this snake. It's Nerodia erthyrogaster, also known as yellow-bellied water snake. Its scales are keeled, so it can't be a racer.
