What are your five favorite jig colors? What color jig head and the body color and body type, grub, tube, marabou, etc. Pics are greatly appreciated. I am trying to build a small crappie jig box. Just want some colors that I can start with and get some confidence in. I am just starting using jigs for crappie. Thanks and tightlines.

White, chartreuse, plain silver or pink jigheads. White and chartreuse or Black and chartreuse bodies. I like Rocky Tops and Thump Buddies. I also keep plenty of Lake Fork Tackle Baby Shad in Chartreuse Ice, Limtreuse, and Sour Grape. I mostly use 1/8th or 3/32nds Jigheads. That will put fish in the boat. On hand tied jigs I like colors of the same from Jigum Jigs, Thumpit, Bentley and TNT Tackle.

My go to color at just about any lake.. There's a definate confidence factor there also... Let me know if I can help with your hand tied...

+1 on what Jigum said. He'll make up any color combo you want at a very good price. I too like the pink/chart/chart but, in my opinion, jig head color is overrated, chart colors are not.

heads ...white with eyes, charteuse with eyes,pink with eyes,black with eyes
1/32 1/16 1/8
bodies ....chatreuse,charteuse/white,white,cleargreen metalflake,pink/white
black/chatreuse.....and my farm pond color is a tri color
red head,blue body, chartruese tail
1.25 to 1.5 long
i quit using feathered jigs long ago ....
when they started making good plastics ....

and then there was this new one i am going to try just for fun That looks like a Slab Bandit-Texas Toast. If it is, you won't be dissapointed. In fact, Slab Bandit puts out several "Go To" color combos. I can personally vouch for 6-8 killer's.

These are my favorite colors but the first 2 in the first pic and the first 1 on the second pic are my go-to jigs.

of course then i got home and the little lady says she needs one just for her ....... i said ok ok........ whats it going to be,,,,,, she says pink head charteuse body ........ me thinks it aint her first time to fish you know.... so anyway here it is ,,,,,the lady jig ......
