Does any one know what prop to run on my skeeter zx 190 with yamaha 150 V Max. Right now im running a 14 1/2 x 23m. I have set my jack plat at all different levels, keeping my rpms between 5600 and 5800. At wot im running 56mph at 5800 rpms. As the boat picks up speed the front in pops up about 3 in real quick and the rooster tail goes away. It dosent seem to matter where my jack plate is set it does the same thing everytime. I can lower the motor on the jackplate and only turn 5600 rpms at wot as soon as i hit max speed the rooster tail goes a way again. Does the same thing if i raise my motor on the jack plate and turn 5800 rpms wot. Hope this makes sense to yall. Help would be much appreciated..

you want the tail to go away once the bow pops up.
that means the prop is running effecient.

you should be a lil faster than 56mph.

measure the actual prop shaft height. the motor may still be too low. if it is, and the rpms go up past 6k then you can send the prop off for some work and go faster.

In the summer 58mph is probably about the most that boat will do.

Thanks for the info. I didnt know the rooster tail should go away at wot. Thought it should still have a small one. I have adjusted my prop shaft height 3 1/2 in below the pad. Rpms were 6000 plus probably need some Prop work done. That's why I lowered it back down didn't want to mess anything up. Thanks steve

your welcome.

and yes. sounds like a lil work may be in order. just let me know when your ready.

if i had a good video of a drag boat it'll show you exactly what a rooster tail is supposed to do. very high until the prop bites. then it goes away and starts really pushing and accelerating.
