Anyone know any good areas for Crappie banking. I have been going to the barge at Lewisville but I havent had much luck here lately. I Tried Ray Hubbard a few times, I did pretty good on cats but no Crappie. I have been using minnows and sometimes jigs.

I have talked with alot of people, and the only people I know of that are catchin crappie are in a boat in 15-20 ft of water. I would also like to know of a crappie bank spot.

Thy will be done

yeah I have been wanting to get me a small boat at least, to increase my chances. Hopefully I will be able to in the near future.

I think at this time of the year if you don't have a boat or a small pond that is full of crappie. then don't bother looking for them. Oh a boat slip that has brush in it might be good but then your back to the barge at Lewisville. Boat in the summer and bank in the spring or late fall maybe.

the banking action will start to heat up in november, and it will last through may. for now, stick to the barges, or find a pond with crappie in it.

Pretty much +1 to all responses to your question. Can't personally speak on the November thing, but common sense tells me that the statement is on point. I can't wait until I get a bass hunter type deal. Banking it can get rugged.

The november-february banking is the winter creek run. March-may is the main lake spawn.

I never tried the tube, I am not fond of snakes at all though so that may be a problem for me. How deep are yall going out in the tube?

We go to Purtis creek camping or just for the day a lot. We always catch crappie off the dam. My boys walk the rocks with a slip bobber with a small shad body on a jig. They don't catch a lot but they catch some big ones.
