Been doing fair on cypress trees with the large root systems in 5 foot plus water with 10" worms black/blue up in the heat of the day.

you have to really be dialed in on them or its tough real tough , best odds would be in the river with topwater early then maybe punch some grass up there or frog on top , i caught em deep trees on monster worm but its a grind had 22lbs best 5 monday sat had 17-7 best 5, deep meaning 8 to 10 foot

Went with my 7 yr old this am. On water before sunrise. Put in at star park. Found schooling bass/whitbass when rounded a corner. Caught probably (small bass and decent whitebass) on ratl traps. When the sun came ou. It was over Hit some pads with frogs floating lizards and buzz baits. Couple bites but nada. So. Go early and by 830. It's over. For me anyways

There are lots of good fish to be caught on Caddo right now. Just follow dmoore's instructions.

If there is current, find some of the places where the clean water meets the murky water and you will do well. If they are not letting water out of pines then there will probably not be much current, and then I would suggest to follow what dmoore said.
