Well, I havent done sandie, hybrids on lewisville for years, but i was short on time saturday and thought I'd stay local and give it a try with a friend my son and I.
Saw all the boats gathered around so we kind of skirted around them. Good news is they were hitting pretty well, but then school moved right to us,, other folks saw us and here came the boats. Easily within a few feet of us, pulling up infront from full motor to stop. We nearly had to kick one away as he trolled right up on us. At one point we couldnt even cast.
So never again Lake lewisville. it wasn't even enjoyable. I'll spend the extra 30-60 drive and head to tawok or RR.

Sorry to hear about your troubles but it can get ridiculous at times. Me and a friend were out there on his boat and after awhile we just left to find other fish. And we did find the magnum sandies and hybrids.

glad to hear you found them. I only get to go 3-4 times a month so when one of my days gets ruined, it really irks me. My dad was on Richland Cambers by himself on Sunday and caught a mess of hybrids/sandies. Should have waited and gone with him. i'm sure i'll be convinced to go back eventually

At LL last weekend I got bait hung in a tree. About two minutes later we had three other boats on us trying to hang up in the same tree.

justjameshere,
That is just they way it is on Lewisville. I couldn't believe it when I moved down here from up north. You either just got to join in on the crazyness and have fun, or stay away on the weekends.
The best time to fish Lewisville is on the weekdays. The mornings are awesome with very little traffic and the evenings aren't too bad.....that is if you can stand the hot weather.

I fished there this morning and found a few near the dam, other boats started showing up but, never got too close. During the weekdays I haven't had a problem the few times I've been out early. I launch out of Lake Dallas and someone has been filleting catfish at the launch and leaving the remains on the launch ramp. The city park workers have to clean it up, I've seen it twice now. What a stinking mess!

What a stinking mess! They do the same thing where I launch (Little Elm Park).....stinks like crazy

Lewisville is a good enough fishery that you can find fish in areas that are basically uninhabited by boat shows, virtually any day of the week! I have been out with E. Paty, Boston Bob, Papa Peck, and DTA, on weekends, and crowds have seldom to never been an issue! Fish were plentiful, we caught them in basically unfettered peace and quiet!

I have a crappy old beat up aluminum boat.
When they do that to me.... I just walk away from the trolling motor and hope like he double hockey sticks that i hit the guy who parked in front of me.
and when they give me the look.... i give it back.
Set the hook..... It's free.

I remember the good ole days when you could go to the lake and there would be 60 or 70 boats all in one place they would be stacked up at Deadmans,or at one of the cuts, and sometimes at twin trees,
They show up there every now and then still but even close to what they once where meaning the boats, problem with this time of year is the dinks come to surface alot and man the people go crazy it is rare that the Hybrid action and the boat shows go hand in Hand, Some one said week days yes great suggestion the other thing is let deer season start and the boats and activity drop , Oct-Jan my favorite time, I know that they do not follow boats around like they used to either,DTA and BOSTON BOB you guys get followed like used to,camo boats I guess.
It is a special place and no matter what I love fishing that lake and it is full of fish if you look in the right places!
Fish with DON THE ANGLER AND BOSTON BOB they will teach you the Lewisville two step!
