ok folks... I need a quick weekend getaway for the wife and I and are two kiddos... Prolly not wanting to take the boat. Not sure where to go.... within a couple hours from Dallas. Preferably not to spensive either.

maybe head down to San Antonio? They have sea world for the kids and plenty of good food and drinks for the adults.

My family and friends we all had a good time when we went. Some of the hotel are "haunted" and that can be fun for the kids depending.

Turner Falls Oklahoma is not too far or expensive and is very cool.

I like Lake Greeson in Arkansas, about 4 hours from the Rockwall area. I have been taking my son every spring since he was 8. Great Corp of Engineers Camp grounds plus they have the diamond mine. I think they even have a pool depending on the age of your kiddos.

Look at wimberly texas,7a resort. Tubing on the Blanco River.Taking the family for the first time.I heard it's a fun place.You have the river,and a pool.

Wimberley is great. It doesn't get much better than cooling off in The Blue Hole.

+1 for Blue Hole and also in Wimberley they have Jacob's Well which is really an amazing place to hike/swim.
