Paul is the way to go. Had the trip of a lifetime with him a few months back. Always a great guy to fish around and one heck of a fisherman. Looking forward to booking another trip with him soon.

John and Paul are good friends. Both are great. I saw them helping and supporting each other. I like them both. You should plan two trips in different times of the year, and try both of them.

Enjoy your trips!

That was one of the best responses I've seen in a long time on the Forum. Very diplomatic... Politics may be in your future! Happy Fishing.

"WOW GPS Coordinates. I know its a public lake and all. But my feelings are hurt. I felt really special when Fishboy Frank took me by there for a little fishing on one of his little honey holes. It was all I could do not to open my I phone and click on my Navionics application and snag that little puppy. I mentioned Hybrid Heights in a post a few weeks ago. Another guy sent me a PM for the location. I tried to give him the landmarks to find it, but it was pretty lame. If Frank hadn't taken me by there I wouldn't have ever found it."

I think I'm with Terry on this one. I've slipped not far from here for years and fished roughly three days a week for the last three years (the last few months not withstanding). With the exception of Johnny Procell, the long time full time guide on Ray Hubbard, I've never seen anyone fish this spot.

I felt very honored that Frank showed it to me when he did, because he had one phenomenal report after another. And after a year of me asking, he was generous enough to show it to me. Frank..... Thank you for that.

I guess I'm just a little disappointed that we are now posting GPS coordinates to anyone who asks on such a public area. It took me years to be able to go out and catch fish the way I do now. Not only years but thousands of dollars worth of boat gas and countless hours of not catching squat. And original poster..... You have done absolutely nothing wrong by asking for the great spots.... That's how we all got to where we can produce like we can.

There are a number of great guides on Lake Ray Hubbard. Johnny Procell may not be the favorite on this forum, but he's a good buddy of mine and you can't argue with the results he gets. That guy has been fishing Hubbard since before most of us ever heard of Lake Ray Hubbard. John Varner is awesome and great with kids as has been mentioned. Paul is really good and really dialed in with the lake. I think one that is a load of fun is CC. He's on here occasionally but he's a really great guy, great with kids, and is equipped to take a big group. It's like fishing with your favorite Grandpa (no offense intended CC). wink

Well said Jackson. At the end of the day we all want to learn and share on here. I've said it so many times. What a blessing it has been since joining this Forum. Was asked for years to join and for some reason never got around to it. May have been the busy life syndrome. But since joining have met some of the greatest guys in the world. We've developed deep friendships and have several annual get together events. Have been able to put so many faces with names through here. it's not unlike the age old proverb of, "Give a man a fish and feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime." We are all teachers. But sometimes the best way to learn is for the student to learn through his own trials. We all learn best through experience. Good guides become great guides by doing it day in and day out. Pretty much the same adage applies to all of us. Happy Fishing.
