Reflective tape on your rod tip. When you get those small runs just shine your line at your rods and you can usually see which one is getting played with. I like sitting in the dark and will only turn on my headlamp or flashlight to check my lines. Thats what works for me.

I've alway been able to tell what rod is going by the sound. I've never had a problem not being able to.

I just use a cap light on my hat or visor and flip it on when I get a run. Granted, I usually only have a couple of poles so it's not too bad.
I've done 4 or 5 guided trips with Tex on Lavon and that guy is a whiz at being able to tell what pole is running just by sound location. I'm not sure how he does it, but we've had 16 poles in the water at one time and he's been able to tell exactly which pole is running virtually every time.

Caribou, how many rods are you using? I always sit in the middle of my boat, but i also only drift 4 rods and i am within arms reach of all 4.

When drifting ill use 14 rods.i set them all at different lenghts. helps cut down on the tangles. I had one fish take the far left line and ran all the way around the boat and never tangled ant lines

Ill try the glow sticks, but I'm not sure it will work. The rod holders i use when using clickers hold my rods straight out, it allows the fish to more freely pull line with out any tension from the rod, so the rods usually doesn't bounce. I do use both glowsticks and bells when tight lining though.

Glow earrings from party city, small zip tie to attach to rod tip. They last all night, $1.00 for a pair. Some say they like to go to Party City and stay lit for two nights.
