What color LED lights do you prefere for the deck and floor area? I tried blue but they blind me unless there facing down and there's really no way to mount'em that way on my boat. I have night blindness and Im tired of stepping on or tripping over anything on the floor or deck. Also, anyone got any tips for reducing the glare from the white anchor light.

put a light white sock on the anchor light,
red reduces glare, that what is used in all the aiplane cocpits (mostly) at night.

I leave very few rods on my deck to keep me from tripping over them.

For the anchor light, use black tape from the base of the lamp about half-way up. In other words, only the last one-half of the lamp is exposed. Can still be seen 360 degrees, is still legal and helps cut down on the glare a ton.

As for LED etc., nothing! Any light that is burning that meets your pupils is going to inhibit your night vision. Try and keep your back to the anchor light as much as possible.

Sunglasses. cool

Some lights have a lower glare cover as well.

I use 6in red Glow sticks. They work good on the floor and deck. they will last about 8hrs

An LED lamp, but put it under the console so that you only get the light coming out from underneath and not the direct LED to the eyes. Just enough light to keep me from missing a step or a rod. Turn it off when driving or anchored up and turn it on when moving around or retying, etc.

Or only fish full moons. laugh
