Dark grey, yellow heavy scaled belly, approx. 33" long by about 1" diam (Belly area), very aggressive, coiled and striking,,,made a BIG mistake, slid (Very fast) onto the patio area, she who hates snakes added a little red color to the neck area, now snake very quiet. (Actually now deep in a new hole and covered. I thought was a black rat snake, BUT-----

We called them blue racers. They will chase you! I'm pretty sure they are all FEMALE since they always seem ticked off...

Looks like a yellow belly racer. I kept one for awhile. He was mean as the dickens, but it didn't hurt when he bit because he was so small. One of the prettiest snakes I ever had. He was gray when I first caught him, but after he shed his skin, he had a lot of turquoise mixed in with the gray.

I'm thinking one of the water snake species from the Genus Nerodia. However, might be a yellow-bellied racer as mentioned earlier.
