Looking at buying a house that's about 1/4 mile from the lake. Logged many hours on Roberts, Tawakoni, and Fork, but have never the fished "the vine."

Decent lake or what? I see y'all talking about it, what's the scoop?

Deep? Any grass or timber?

I'll find my own spots, just asking if its any good.

Good lil lake. Can take some weight to win tourneys out there. I grew up 100 yards from the lake on Red Bud Point as a kid. Learned to bass fish on it. Fishes totally different than lakes like Lewisville. Got some nice smallies in it too. I lil time on the water and you will like the lake. Deep rocks. Not a lot of timber. But some. No grass.

Never caught a smallmouth. Maybe that will be my goal.

Thanks for the reply.

its a good lake but highly populated with jet skis, sail boats, etc. no grass at all, it a rock lake. find the drop offs, man made brush piles and hit all the marinas. the dam is the best place if youre not on them. it was built like a quarry, alot of roads...

Arguably, one of the best lakes in the metroplex.....

The only real timber is up in the very very shallow end of the lake and they don't seem to hold much fish.

Like the others have stated, this lake is all about the drop offs and points. Carolina rigs seem to be a pretty good way to catch bass on this lake for me.
