First day of vacation, waaaaay back in the gunk, blew a hole in top piston of my 90 jet. Four hour push in the slop later to get to a place that something with a prop could drag my carcass back to the landing...

Anyone have a line on a 90 Tohatsu/Nissan hopefully with a blown lower unit? I've rebuilt this unit once, and it ain't looking like it's wanting to go another round. Rather not have to buy another jet unit, reason for brand preference.

Dang, that does suck.

Some maps list it as "5th lake" which is the lake behind contee. Water was 8" deep, mud was right up to your waist. I hate poot mud.... I could pole out some of the way, but some of the mud bars were just slog through to get out. Sure was a lot easier just running into that stuff.

Bet you wish you still had that old rig as back-up .

Yeah, that was a very good motor..oh well. I'd just as soon find another carb merc or yamaha now, as time is going past, I'm getting a lot less picky.

Pat, go get my 18' Shallow sport with the TRP and keep fishin. I would hate for a blown motor to ruin a perfectly good fishincation. It's almost as shallow as yours and will do 5th lake all day.
