Beat it again! Since I don't carry a scale I just go by the length. Arlington record on rod/reel is 26 inches, this one made 27 inches. Biggest Lake A channel I ever caught was 39" monster. I had to count the rays to satisfy myself that it was actaully a channel and not a blue. As far as I know she is still in there swimming. I release her and watched her swim off. This was two summers ago.

Good job. You should be about to have the catch and release record then. Fill out the paperwork and sent it in along with a picture of out on the measuring board.

39" channel is probally a state record. I think the current is 38" and 32#? I will have to look and see.should have documented that one!

I have caught bigger channel cats in other lakes and rivers, and I have gotten a few around 30 inches out of Arlington in the past. I just figured on setting a goal in the yak on Arlington while kayak wars is going. What kinda stinks is a lot of the certified scales the TP&W has listed are no longer certified including Lake Arlington.
