Went out with a buddy around 5:30pm and found fish pretty quick. There were shad schooling on top all over the lake this evening. You had to use your electronics a lot of the time to find the sandbass (or wait until you saw them busting the surface). We had our limit of sandbass in less than an hour using the RH McQueen and 3/4oz Godfather lures from Moestackleshop.com

I just used the slab for about 15 fish to show my buddy you can catch schooling sandies in a pinch with a slab and not have to waste time tying on a new lure. After getting our limits, we experimented with several other lures. The McQueen was hands down the best followed by the 2oz Fiesta and another lure that has been discountued by Moes. I did a short video showing where we fished, how we fished and what we fished with. Hopes this helps out some newbies catch some fish.

Here is what I call the "Coffin Pic"

Thanks a lot for the video! People are often too tight lipped about where they catch fish and what they used to catch them with.

The white house is really a big flat that is about 16 feet deep right now. It is on the north end of the lake towards the Little Elm boat ramp. It is south of the Little Elm bridge about 1500 meters probably..I am just guessing

We did not target hybrids last night. We went after those last week. I am very open about where and how I catch the sandbass, but keep my hybrid spots to myself.

Yeah, we caugth I think 3 nice catfish fish and released them all and then my buddy said, why don't we start keeping some of them. It is no secret that the white house flat is a great place to drift for catfish too. I see Tom Gravely drifting on it a lot.

I understand that- I just don't get too excited about catching sandbass anymore. After about 10 minutes of it I am bored. Hybrids are always fun

Yes, it is all relative. After going off shore fishing a couple times the hybrids feel like bluegill on your line. I just like fishing with my buddies and catching is a bonus.

I agree but the cost of catching hybrids is much more appealing than heading offshore! That is one of the reasons I miss Fairfield so much. In 2 hour I would be on a lake catching a fish that no other freshwater fish could compare to

Anyone know why I can't see a link to see the video? I see the picture and just below it is a blank box with a small blue circle with a back slash.

Nice report and catch PittState. Never been to Lewisville but need to try it soon. Sure haven't done much on Grapevine in last 2 weeks. So hot last couple of days not sure I'm going out until Fall LOL. Thinking about some night fishing but don't feel like I know the lakes around here well enough. When I lived on Toledo Bend used to go out at night a lot but I knew the lake.

Fish everytime I can!
