Looking to purchase a boat with a 2006 150 Yamaha VMAX with 50hrs. Being a carburated engine makes me hesitant. Would appreciate any information and performance experience on this year and model engine and recomendation to purchase or look for newer EFI model?

Thank you.

That is a good reliable engine period. The ox66 injected is another. Lots of problems with the origonal HPDI engines.

Ive had one for 6 years.. Its been trouble free. Best motor ever I've ever owned. Not the best on fuel.

I agree, i have a 2000 ox66 (EFI) with many hours on it. It has been the BEST motor I have ever owned. Just kept up with services and preventive maintenance.
