I would recomend the Skeet Reese (gotta get past that darn yellow)#WMESRJB68C1.

This is a 6'8" Rod and is an excellent designed for rod for what you are doing. I even use it for 3/8 ounce Luckycraft LVR's and Buzzbaits. I have two of them for personal use. I have one paired with a Curado 200DPHV and one with a Curado 200DPV. One 5.1 and the other 7.1 Gear Ratio. I do fish a lot of Bandits mostly in the 100-200 size and they work great and cast excellent.

For these presentations I would recommend a Fury Custom Phenom in 6'2-6'8 depending on your preference with MH power and a Mod/Fast action. Lure rating of 1/4-3/4.

If you plan to throw the bandit 200 or top waters in open water where you need more casting distance I would go with the 6'8. Otherwise, I would go with the shorter rods as it makes walking the Sammy's and Spook very easy with a downward twitch without hitting the water and also makes for working a jerk bait easy as well. I also like a short 7-8" straight rear grip for this application.

Some people like a Fast action for Jerk baits and top water to get better action as it takes a little less rod movement to work the bait but IMO the landing success (especially right at the boat) suffers. I find that while it may take the slightest bit more of effort with the slower action, it does not play into fatigue and I land more fish.

So, I recommend 6'4 MH Power with Mod/Fast Action and a 7" rear grip for cast to structure and shorter accurate cast or a 6'8 MH Power with a Mod/Fast Action with a 8" rear grip for more of a open water rod. The longer of the two will not be as accurate but will cast a bit further and have better fish control. The shorter rod will be more accurate and easier to work IMO but you lose a little casting distance and have 3" less rod for fish control.

Might want to check out the Denali Michael Murphy signature Jerbait rod. It is a 6'8", Med.,Mod. action, 1/4-5/8 lures. It was specifically designed for working jerkbaits and topwaters where you are holding the rod tip down. It has a shorter handle to accomodate that. It works great for me for jerkbaits and all topwaters I throw. The moderate action helps to keep the trebles from tearing out just like a crankbait rod. Should work good for the small Bandit's too.
