Do you know how hot Fayette is right now? flame flame flame flame flame flame flame flame flame 99 degrees!!

The fishing is even hotter! Last Saturday from 5:30 AM to 4:00 PM; 35 fish. From 4:00 to 6:00 PM another 45. A bass every 3 minutes is Hot. C- rig with Havoc bottom hopper in shady watermellon candy.

Almost all were solid fish in the 2.5 to 4.5 range. Probably less than 5 dinks.

Thanks for the info. Might have to make a "hot" trip out there.

Thinking about going Sunday morning.. I've never been to Fayette Lake and I am new to boating.. Is the ramp busy early on Sunday mornings ? Some of these lake around San Antonio are crazy busy at the boat ramps.. I'm probably slower than most at getting my boat in and out of the water.. Is this a easy lake to navigate for a boating rookie ?

ramp can get kinds busy on the weekends, though I'm not sure if thats the norm on hot summer days. I know when the weather is pleasant it can be pretty busy. Lake gets its fair share of pressure from the houston crowd.

easy to navigate, just shut it down as you come into any trees and idle, and dont cut the points too close and you'll be fine.

Had a great time at Fayette.. What a nice lake.. Very nice boat ramp.. Plenty of parking.. Restrooms close by.. It looks like a good lake for fishing.. The water temp in this lake is unreal in some places.. We were reading 101 degrees.. Most of the lake was around 94 degrees..

I threw the Havoc worm most of the morning.. Had one hit on it.. Probably yanked it out of his mouth.. Never got another hit though.. I have a lot to learn about fishing from a boat.. Ive been bank fishing my whole life.. The wife caught a nice Drum with a crankbait.. Wish we would have caught a few bass though.. Will be back to Fayette.. Not a bad trip from S.A.. Hope to find them biting one day..

Went out Saturday and it was rough to say the least. Lake seems to be 2ft lower than when I went a month ago so we had to change our game plan early. Caught 6 total nothing big but nothing small either, fish came on crank baits and two on swim baits. We talked with the game warden and he said everyone was struggling so made me feel better about myself.

Def one of the worst trips I have had in a long time.
