Numbers all work out. Trading in '11 Ford Edge Limited, fully loaded. For an '08 Tacoma, super low mileage, pristine condition, at the right price point. The Edge is more of a luxury vehicle. I'm worried about messing up the leather and such and dirtying it up after yak outings. Tacoma is a more versatile and rugged. Yak fits ok in the truck bed but it does sticks out a bit. I'd have to strap it down fairly tight. Its better than having to load the yak on top of the Edge each time.

Anyone have any thoughts on the Tacoma?

I would rather buy from someone who we did not bail out, and the Tundras are assembled in Sanantonio. Look at the parts and other parts very carefully before talking all American. I really wish there were autos that truley were American and lasted. I would only buy them if that was the case. Remeber look at everything on the auto carefully before bashing me.

I wouldnt bash you. Toyota makes a great vehicle no doubt. And you are right, there is not a truly "American made" automobile. I just prefer to support the companys who did help build this country. Bail out or no bail out.

Looks like both are nice vics. I would think the truck would be easier to load and unload on. I have a Ford F-250 regular bed and it makes loading easy especially when you're alone. My dad has a Tundra and it has been a great truck for him for the last 8-10 years.

I am not trying to start anything, just hate hearing the arguments while poeple only halfhartingly go off not knowing what they are fully talking about. Yes I have a Tundra and yes I had a F-250 before then for almost ten years. I will not go into hoe America was torn down, but it has been, if you look around and it makes me sick to see it. I have a Grandson who I hope can be proud of this country some time in his future as I have been. God Bless America and may we hold our heads up high again.

Anyone ever have that feeling where you really want to troll but then you stop yourself just before you do it?

Just messing around Drpeede. Gator, the truck looks like a sweet ride and the Toyota should last a while. If you need it there are a lot of good bed extender options out there. Good luck!

Geez....didn't intend to start a debate. I just wanted some opinion on the Tacoma. For what it's worth, the paint on BMWs are made in Japan. So there you have it.

You can't go wrong with a Toyota. Plus, you can get a bed extender if your kayak sticks way way out.
