Going this week to watch my granddaughter play softball. Thinking about taking my boat. Don't usually fish for whites but would like to take my son and son in law. Would appreciate any advice

Haven't heard of much surface schooling action here. Best bet is finding them on structure, but if you don't usually fish for sandies, I'd urge you to hire a guide. Billy Seaman and BigCrappie.com are 2 good ones here at CC. They know where all the good structures are.

In the lake with slabs off humps. Use your graff or drift to you find them. Easy to catch. 14 to 25 ft of water. If the are up top use sassy shad.

Look on the open water humps and valleys to the south and west of Crappy Island.

Take a fish boating today!

Your best bet is to troll a Hell Pet rig, or to vertically jig a Thump Buddy, on windblown points and main lake humps. Start looking in 14ft of water, and move deeper. The fish will be within 3ft of the bottom.

If you don't get on fish quickly, keep moving. They are biting extremely well right now!
