Not entirely familiar with either unit. I picked up a gen 1 hds 7, and need to know if the lss2 is compatible or needed. It's going on a CC bay boat and crappie fish quite a bit when I'm not at the coast. I would like DI and SI

From what I have heard they both will work on gen 1 but Lss 2 works faster on the gen 2.
It is not what your fishin for, its who your fishin with!
