First things first,
Everyone that fished this tournament knew about the tragic loss i had last wednesday when my amazing mother passed away. It really helped me and my brother to just get away from everything this weekend and go thru with this. I want to thank everyone that offered very kind words to myself and red this weekend. It truly meant alot to the both of us. We thought about you all weekend mom and we love and miss you so much.
I think the tournament was a very successful event. Everyone did an excptional job with fish care, livewell checks, weigh in check ins and everything that had to do with this tournament. The only way this happens, is if everyone is on the same page and we were. When we had the pretournament meeting, everyone was on que. My hats off to everyone that fished this for making it easier on us.
I cant say enough good things about what Scott Gordan did for us. We had 1st class weigh ins on all 3 lakes. we could have just had the nice finale wheigh in at Bass Pro Shops, but he wanted to give you guys an awesome experience on all 3 lakes and he pulled that off. Hats off to the guys that stayed late to help us break everything down. I also want to thank Trey for everything he did to help me with this putting it together and doing all my checkins.
I also want to give a big thanks to all my sponsors for this tournament. Without their contributions, I could not have made this the highest paid tournament of its size. Thanks
We had 30 very good teams fish this tournament and everyone knew it was gonna be a grind to win. We paid out almost $15,000.00 and if you won it you definately had to work for it. With this format, your'e never safe or your never out of it. If your'e consistant, you always do good. That is exactly what Clint Freeman and Garrett Winford did to take home almost 6 grand today. They never led all weekend, just consistant. Mike Murray/Jody Holabek and Chad davis/Ryan Dusek were the same, consistant. Matt Lee and Darren Scott were in 20th place after day one and climbed 14 places on day 2,finishing 6th.
Next year will be even better I promise and I cant wait. Again everyone thanks for being a very good field and I hope that you enjoyed my tournament.

Sorry about the loss...Sounds like a little Mike Greenish there. If he didn't say thanks for the moment of silence a couple of years ago, thanks for that.

The loss of someone like that Donnie would be horrible. I could not imagine.

I wish we could have fished it this year but things happen for a reason. This is always a good tournament...

Congrats to all the guys...

Donnie you have done an amazing job with this entire event, by far the best overall tournament from the format to the payout that I've been a part of. A big thanks also to Scott Gordon for running amazing weigh in's at all 3 lakes, if you havent fished one of his events your missing out on the best TD and weigh in set up in the metroplex. Congrats to Freeman/Winford on the win and all the anglers that placed in this event. cheers

1st Class Tournament all around. We had a great time. Congrats to all the top ten. It was a grind but well worth it. We will definitely be back next year. Very well done Donnie.

Thanks to Donnie for putting this thing on and to Scott for taking it to another level. I had a great time, and I am already looking forward to next years's event.

I have a few questions about this tourney.
1. how did these folks "qualify" for it? I'm assuming there was some sort of qualifying since there were so few boats.
2. The money at the bottom of the list (Monte Coon, for instance) seems to be money for something other than placing. What is that money for? and where did it come from? It doesn't look like it's big bass money.

I would like to express my gratitude to all of the anglers that particpated in the "Kings-of-Cowtown" over the weekend. This was my first opportunity to direct this tournament and host the weigh-in's at each lake. I can honestly say that I had more fun at this event than at any other tournament I have had the pleasure of hosting. I was very impressed with the level of professionalism displayed by each of the anglers that competed. I would also like to thank those that assisted with setting up and tearing down the staging at each lake. Although I didn't fish, it was still exhausting as I was worn out come Sunday afternoon as each of you were.

There was one aspect of this event that really impressed me and that was with the level of fish-care by each team. We had (301) bass brought to the scales over three lakes and two days, and we did not lose a single bass! 100% of the bass were safely returned to each lake immediately following each weigh-in and that is impressive considering the heat. Here are some interesting statistics from each of the three weigh-in's:

EAGLE MOUNTAIN 6:00AM - 11:00AM

TOTAL FISH WEIGHED: (111)
TOTAL FISH RELEASED: (111 - 100%)
TOTAL FISH WEIGHT: (208.19)
AVE WEIGHT/FISH: (1.88)
AVE # FISH/TEAM: (3.70)
AVE WEIGHT/TEAM: (6.72)

LAKE WORTH 2:00PM - 7:00PM

TOTAL FISH WEIGHED:(81)
TOTAL FISH RELEASED:(81-100%)
TOTAL FISH WEIGHT:(147.96)
AVE WEIGHT/FISH:(1.83)
AVE # FISH/TEAM:(2.70)

LAKE GRAPEVINE 6:00AM - 1:00PM

TOTAL FISH WEIGHED:(109)
TOTAL FISH RELEASED:(109-100%)
TOTAL FISH WEIGHT:(173.43)
AVE WEIGHT/FISH:(1.59)
AVE # FISH/TEAM:(3.63)
AVE WEIGHT/TEAM: (5.59)

TOTALS

TOTAL FISH WEIGHED:(301)
TOTAL FISH RELEASED:(301-100%)
TOTAL FISH WEIGHT:(529.58)
AVE WEIGHT/FISH:(1.76)
AVE # FISH/TEAM:(3.34)
AVE WEIGHT/TEAM: (5.69)
AVE WEIGHT/TEAM: (4.77)
