Give your favorites, too! Most overrated food brands in the market... especially ones pretending to be "the best" by virtue of superior marketing or shelf space.
I'll start.
Mission tortillas.
Anything - including Guerrero and Tia Rosa blow Mission tortillas away. Not even in the same league..but Mission seems to have bought most of the space on store shelves..
I'll add Braum's milk. I think it tastes strange, especially the chocolate..always have.

Black Angus beef.. Sure it's just fine, but unless it's prime grade, beef is beef. They sure do charge a couple more bucks a lb. for it though.
Any national-brand of salsa. Every grocery store has locally made stuff that's 10x better.

Back in the old days, 45 years ago, Patio had great TV dinners. As of about 30 years ago they changed their recipes and now they suck.

Got that right!!! The only thing different between most of them is the label. Store bought salsa is just awful and it's too expensive to even use as a base for doctoring. Throw a can of crushed tomatoes in a blender with a can of San Marcos jalapenos and even something as simple as that would taste better than any store bought salsa. Oh! San Marcos canned whole jalapenos are the best. They're just like the ones you get at fried chicken places - they're HOT and they TASTE GREAT. The other brand orange label starts with a C...Costena or something like that.....awful.

Couple bucks more a pound? Where are you shopping? It's a 10 cent difference here...and YES I assure you it taste better. Darn well worth 10 cents! LMAO!

The best tasting beef I ever had, and I have lived all over the world, was the grass feed Herford beef my father raised in Colorado. Hands down the best tasting beef anywhere.

Yeah, here in Austin at HEB or Randall's it's right around $2 more per pound for black angus steaks. And in choice grade I really can't tell any difference from non-black angus. Both are good and taste the same, but one's much less $ than the other.
Now prime black angus is another story and I'll spring for some of those about once a month or so. Those are well worth the price.

Most all of the milks are the same. They all come from cows, none is really different from the other, just goes in different jugs. I have seen it first hand where the milk plants swich jugs or stickers and keep filling them with the same milk. My Fiance works for heb in the milk bottling plant and they bottle two different kinds of organic milk, the exact same milk, but one sells for $2 more a 1/2 gal...
I have never noticed a difference in angus beef as aposed to another as long as you are comparing similar grades, and like the others have said angus comands a premium price just for the name.

Just a quick black angus derailment..
When I was growing up my Grampa managed a ranch outside of Walnut Springs. We had herefords and charolais. Hereford bulls were calm, stayed away from us. Didn't have any charolais bulls. Ranch owner bought a black angus bull. Little guy, but just solid muscle. He was tame enough to eat cow candy out of your hand. But when he scented a cow in heat... ohhhh man.. He'd just put his head down and walk right through barbed wire, wood fences, didn't matter. We spent more time fixin' fences due to that bull than he was worth.
