I will be taking my three kids out for a bream fishing excursion.
I am a die hard bass fisherman and probably miss out on all the good bluegill action at my area lakes. What is the best one for fast action with night crawlers and crickets? Thanks in advance for your knowledge!

My cousin always took my nephews to Eagle Mountain. Went there with him once and we did very well. Always a good chance to drift into some spotted bass, too, for a bonus.

I have several friends who live in Arlington. They say that Ray Hubbard is a good Sunfish lake. Another lake closer to Ft. Worth that I was told has a good population of Sunfish is Ben Brook. I myself have never fished these lakes. Only going by past reports with friends. Good luck. fish

When we take the kids we use cane poles with a stick float and crickets on a long shank hook. GREAT FUN

Marine Creek lake holds some very nice sunfish as well as bass. It's a small lake with tons of great fishing all around it's banks. I was out there a few weeks ago and had nice sunnies hitting a small crank bait just after it landed. 8-9 inches so I'm sure they get bigger!
A LOT of the shore is covered in emergent vegetation, extremely habitable for sunfish of all types.

I sure need to meet some of your buddies. Never been to Hubbard, but I'd like to get into some gills there. There is some good action at lake arlington as well. I have em pretty well figured through the summer months.
