I'm watching Bassmasters this a.m. at Green Bay catching big smallies (3-6 lbs.) using 6 lb. test line.
Question??? If you are to believe all the flurocarbon line companies, flurocarbon is supposed to be basically invisible underwater. If that is true, then why not use 8-10 lb. line in clear water?? Guess the pros do not believe that BS invisibility issue!!

That and heavier line will effect bait action.

+1. Also it's not completely invisible, just much less visible. Heavier line will show up just not as much as mono or braid.

6 lb test will let you throw small stuff with ease (minimal air drag). It also gets down quicker (again no drag). Personally, I try to use the lightest line I can for a given situation. Castability and "connection with the bait" are sacrificed slightly for every increase in line size IMO.
