To anybody who was out there today, I was the guy in the olive fishing kayak. Fished from daybreak to 3 PM and only boated 4 fish--two keepers. Only fished the new side.
Largemouth were active in the morning on topwater, but I couldn't get bit (shamefully). Whiffed with various walking sticks and poppers. Varied speed from breakneck to dead twitch. Tried downsizing to micros as well. Would have thrown a white buzz bait for a different look if I had brought any.
Couldn't buy a bite on any reaction lures--tried to work in the 10-15 ft range with deep cranks and shallower in the timber with square bills, but no luck.
Only bites I could muster were on an unweighted, white (they didn't want green pumpin it seemed) 4 inch slim Senko. Lots of small offspring baitfish everywhere.
White bass were schooling heavy and blowing up on top consistently until about noon in the deeper water adajacent to the a primary main lake point on the southwest side by the dam. If you are looking for a good white bass day, it looks to be there for the taking.

Yup, Amon Carter's tough. But when they bite there, the fish are big.
