I just wanted to share this shot I took today. The unit is my new HB597 HD with a US2 on my Terrova. Max mode was off and I managed to turn the sensitivity down to 5 and still saw the 1/8 oz crappie jig.

Where is your jig? Im Still learning this stuff. Is it the up and down lines on the Graph? Yes it is the solid line going up and down from me jigging it. I was over exaggerating the jigging motion but I was just testing it out to see how well it would show up. I was very pleased with it because I was not to sure how sensitive or how well the US2 worked. In fact, you can see where I had turned the sensitivity down to 5 and it still showed. It is where the Temp. reading is on the pic. The line was fainter but still very visible.

Doug,
I assume you have your hands on HB 360 and have had first hand experience with it. Could you comment on your experiences with it? I have the 1197 and very happy with it. I am planning on getting the 1198 if you think it's worth the upgrade.
Also, can I run a wire (not the video out) from the 1198 to the 1197 and use it as another screen that can view other pages (like watching the 360 image on the 1198 and down image/gps on the 1197)? Thanks. I have not had the chance to test the 360 Imaging Yet...but I hear soon I'll get to play with one. For your question Not sure on the 1197c since it is a different Ethernet Technology than the current Ethernet Products. I would contact HB Customer Service for that question 800-633-1468

Thks, George You can use one but I will ask why? I personally prefer GPS Receiver Mounted close proximity to the Transducer to reduce adding any additional offset and making it easier to get to the waypoints when returning with either location.

Never heard that Fishing Electronics could have any effect with electrolysis.

OK, here's the deal. Got on the lake with the new 788. Pressed the mark button to mark my 1st waypoint without any issues. Went to mark the second one and the unit shut down. Tried it 4 different times. It shutdown all 4 times. What's up with that? Happened again, but this time when I turned the unit on it would flash and beep between the LOADING and Humminbird screen.
Keep on fishing.

858C Question
Just bought a Hummingbird 858C
The manual says take the NMEA pigtail and tape it to the coax lead for the GPS receiver unless needed??? My unit has the green black and white.
Am I understanding that the one I have is for connection to (my Marine Radio or other NMEA Device) that has its own power source?

I just bought this unit(788ci HD Di) and the second time out, when I would turn the boat motor off the unit would lock-up are start flickering when I re-started the boat motor. I would have to take the unit off of the mount to get it to work again..Any ideas?
