Hate to beat a dead horse, but was on the lake with my dad on Texoma a few days ago and had an encounter with a troller/motor'er that really made the trip boarder line unenjoyable. We were fishing the south side of the islands along with several other boats and here he comes trolling in and out of everyone. As soon as fish would surface he would drive with the big motor (trolling lines left in the water) over to the school. I then yelled "Turn your motor off" mainly out of frustration, and he yelled back " I got here first". It amazes me how the 5-7 other boats around me had respectable and considerate ways about fishing, and one jerk managed to spoil the fun for all of us. Sorry about the rant, maybe if its complained about enough, people will get the hint.

Some people will ne ever get the hint. This is their world, the rest of us are just paying rent.

Now that is profound. I am using that in my next meeting!!!

Post a description of their boat. Call 'em out in public. That tends to make them think twice... Hopefully.

Of course he got to the next school first because while everyone else was using their trolling motor to get to the fish this guy would big motor on top of them!! Geez!!

If a troller gets there first, he gets there first. Sorry. If I'm there first and anchor up, should I be upset that other folks come in and get on the troll motor or start drifting? By your logic everyone should anchor?

Big motors scare off the fish, so it's counter-productive for everyone. Big Motor Guy included.

Let's say there are 10-15 boats using their TM to work a school of fish and one guy that is trolling. The fish go down but pop right up 50 yrds away. Everyone uses their TM to move the 50 yrds except for the troller. Of course he got there first but does that give him claim to those fish and screw it up for everyone else that was courteous and didn't crank up their big motors??
