According to Rob Woodruff's site, it's excellent right now. I know I spent a day LY up there about this time of year and it was excellent. Almost no people during the week, wet wade and it feels like springtime.

Here's Rob's latest report:

Reece

Right now the fishing is really good up in the upper ends of the park, IE-Evening Hole, Lost Creek and Spillway Creek. The wet wading feels GREAT!!! Check out Lower Mountain Fork River Foundation on Facebook and you will see current reports for that river.
Hope you have a great time and give us a report and some pix!!

Wife and I are going up for the weekend. Catch and release just to bother the fish!!! Where is the "Evening hole"? Is there a different access to spillway creek other then by Lost Creek and walking up stream?.

There are some C&R areas and some non-C&R areas. OKWD has reasons for these zones that they can best explain if you'll contact them.

Spillway Creek can be accessed from the top, under the spillway. There's parking and a nice trail. Or used to be.

Here's the map to the spillway

Thanks! Meant to be funny, b/c I dont generally keep any fish anyway, I just go to upset their routines and give them stories to tell the other trout! I have always just takes the "cut-back" after crossing the dam. I wasn't aware I could go further down and get to the top of spillway creek.

Troy, Sorry I didn't get back on the forum to see your offer! I had the chance to leave a day early (Thursday at noon) so I took it. Hope I saw you there, my wife and I fished the Lost creek area with the 75-100 new "best friends" we met there!

Pretty discouraging to see all those people using bait and taking so many fish out of the Red Zone area.

We managed to catch a few with best being right at sun-up.

I need to wait until summer vacation time is over and maybe the crowds will subside. We had people actually casting over our lines after we caught a few.

Maybe we can catch up next trip! Tim

75-100 people using bait? Seems like OKWD would take the opportunity to fill their coffers with fine money from the numerous citations for illegal fishing. Better than a red light camera!

I tried to tell the one's who were friendly enough to talk that the Red Zone was artificial only (barbless to boot) but it will only change when the rules start getting enforced. It's a shame to see a fishery that draws so many from so far is not managed by some moderate enforcement, even warning tickets.

One gentleman caught an enormous rainbow 26-28+" that he released after asking me to take his photo.
